Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) Kabupaten Garut, Nurdin Yana, menegaskan bahwa hingga kini rencana pemekaran dua wilayah tersebut masih tertahan di meja pemerintah pusat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYa, Garsel dan Gatra itu memang sudah masuk rencana pemekaran. Tapi sampai hari ini moratorium belum dicabut, jadi statusnya masih menunggu,\u201d kata Nurdin kepada wartawan, Senin (18\/8\/2025).<\/p>\n<p>Ia menyebut, perwakilan forum masyarakat dari kedua calon daerah otonom itu baru-baru ini menemui Bupati Garut. Mereka mendesak adanya progres nyata, minimal berupa kajian kapasitas daerah. Menurutnya, Bupati memberi penekanan bahwa studi kelayakan menjadi pintu awal bagi DOB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBaik Garsel maupun Gatra kemarin datang. Dari Gatra hadir ketua forumnya. Intinya, mereka ingin ada progres. Pak Bupati menegaskan kajian kapasitas daerah itu prasyarat sebelum melangkah lebih jauh,\u201d ujar Nurdin.<\/p>\n<p>Secara formal, kedua calon DOB sudah mendapat persetujuan di tingkat kabupaten dan provinsi. Nurdin menegaskan, Garsel dan Gatra bahkan sudah melewati tahap persiapan untuk diajukan ke pusat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJadi sebenarnya keduanya sudah lolos persiapan. Tinggal menunggu regulasi pusat,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Jika pemekaran benar-benar terwujud, dampaknya akan langsung terasa pada Kabupaten Garut sebagai daerah induk, terutama dari sisi Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD). Meski begitu, kata Nurdin, pemerintah kabupaten tetap punya kewajiban moral dan administratif untuk menopang wilayah baru di masa awal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAda tiga wilayah nanti: Garut Selatan dengan 15 kecamatan, Garut induk 16 kecamatan, dan sisanya di utara. Tentu ada konsekuensi, tapi pemerintah induk harus memberikan <i>support<\/i> dulu,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p>Hingga kini, pemekaran Garsel dan Gatra masih berhenti di level Rancangan Peraturan Pemerintah (RPP). \u201cArtinya, belum fix menjadi PP.
